Animation Magazine had their judges pick a winner and it was Chelsea, one of my first year students. Her pitch is the dragon holding on to the balloon. It beat out industry professionals including Stephen Silver (remember the sketchbook?).
I am home now and recuperating from a bad hamburger at MEX airport.
If you have problems trying to play the videos given in the class today (this happens specially in macs), I have just found the solution. The problem is that it is a .avi file with an TSCC codec that was developed for Windows. The QuickTime doesn't play the video, just the sound; some windows media pleyers have the same problem, and the VLC player (if you have it) has a bug. So, to make it work properly, download the codec at this link: http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.asp, and (for mac) download the Intel-based Mac-OS X one, unzip it and run the package. Restart quicktime and play it there. I played it and works without problem. For windows it has 2 codecs for download, but I haven't checked yet. Good luck with that, and see you in the workshop. Thanks for the videos Don! I have just seen it and it is a lot of help (specialy if I don't usually use flash, jejeje).
Well, Kyo is a serie that the protagonists of the story are Kyo, Spark and Vuley, three so differents ways of life. Kyo is a guy who practices parkour and he wants fights and get into troubles all the time because is great for him. Spark is an hyperactive squirrel who lost his tail, he loves lollipops and turtle-rabbits. Vuley is a blue bull that is a freak, he was the pet of a tyranous boy that always tries to get him feel so bad for his color and his four eyes and four arms.
One day, they mets each other in an alley where the princess of the kingdom was murdered by the mafia. She throws away her kingstone, that makes someone so strong and gives magical powers. Spark found it when he met Vuley and Kyo met they when the mafia chases him. So, they need to find the way to returns to the kingdom escaping from the mafia to give the princess's stone to the king.
Hola! Yes my real name is Don Perro. I think that's funny too, but it's a good name for an animator!
We will use this blog to upload drawings and designs and information. Once you're invited to the blog, it will be your class design blog so you can see each other's work and critique it.
Remember, don't worry about posting your work. How can you become better if you don't show it to people? Every artist and designer started their careers at the very bottom. The successful artists learned and developed and weren't afraid of showing people how poor their work was, they were only interested in seeing themselves improve from day to day (or month to month).
